Opening time of the service:

The structure is on H24; the shifts of the medical and nursing staff takes place in three shifts; visiting patients as related operations takes place, as a rule, between 8.30 am and 10.30 am

Activities:

Urgency-emergency activities and support to the Emergency Relief General

  • Labor-Delivery Room Activity
  • Inpatient obstetric Activity
  • Inpatient gynecological Activity
  • Outpatient Activity

Service:

Urgency-emergency activities and support to the Emergency Relief General.

It is through:

  • specialist obstetrician-gynecological examination
  • diagnostic ultrasound specialist activities of emergency
  • instrumental monitoring of fetal wellbeing
  • diagnostic imaging and laboratory (in collaboration with other hospital services)
  • integrated consultancy activities (in collaboration with specialists in other disciplines)

Access mode to the service:

  • Direct for specialist expertise obstetrical and gynecological diseases with urgency
  • From ER for consultancy services in relation to other diseases with emergency features

Access is regulated by nurses.

Labor-Delivery Room Activity:

Access mode:

  • Direct from ER in case of imminent labor and childbirth
  • Programmed through the divisional outpatient business in case of non-emergency

Inpatient obstetric Activity:

It is aimed at assisting pregnant women with medical conditions related to the mother or fetus, as well as to that of patients with normal pregnancy having given birth at the hospital "Madonna delle Grazie".

Access mode:

  • Direct from Delivery Room after the period of observation post partum
  • Direct from ER for urgent cases
  • Programmed through the divisional outpatient business in case of non-emergency
  • Hospitalization programmed and agreed with the Director of the Unit and counseling centers and gynecologists operating in the area for particular patients

Inpatient gynecological Activity:

It is for patients suffering from diseases related to the female uro-genital organs. This area is also for gynecologic oncology (cancer of the cervix, corpus uteri, vulva, vagina, ovaries, placenta).

Access mode:

  • Direct from ER for urgent cases
  • Programmed through the divisional outpatient business in case of non-emergency
  • Hospitalization programmed and agreed with the Director of the Unit and counseling centers and gynecologists operating in the area for particular patients

Outpatient Activity:

There are different clinics devoted to individual aspects of care in obstetrics and gynecology:

  • obstetric outpatient clinic for physiological pregnancies
  • obstetric outpatient clinic for pregnancy defined "at risk" as burdened by disease
  • outpatient ultrasound obstetric and prenatal diagnostics (ultrasound of the first and third quarter, morphological ultrasound, nuchal translucency, amniocentesis)
  • cardiotocography clinic for control of high-risk pregnancies at term and physiological pregnancies after the deadline
  • gynecological outpatient clinic for diseases of the female genital
  • ultrasound clinic for gynecology
  • clinic for diagnosis and treatment of the lower female genital tract pathology, with expertise second level of screening as part of the uterine cervical cancer
  • reproduction pathophysiology clinic for diagnosis and treatment of sterility in couples
  • urinary-gynecology clinic for evaluation and treatment of genital prolapse and urinary incontinence in women's field in synergy with Urology Unity
  • oncology clinic dedicated to the check of cancer patients treated at the Unit or reported by the national Centres of Excellence
  • outpatient clinic deputy to the post-operative checks

The application of Law 194/1978 is assured through a procedure that provides for a synergistic relationship with the Counseling Center.

The access to outpatient services is possible contacting the Regional CUP. The activities are basis on internal agendas.
